Mommy, Daddy, Katy: US! Eat Food!
We spent a beautiful February day at the Philadelphia Zoo, where we saw many of Katy's favorite animals (but not the hippopotamus - it was too cold). We had a picnic there, and Katy started saying (over and over again), "Mommy, Daddy, Katy: us! Eat food!). We did our best to capture it on video, but what's below doesn't really do it justice. Daddy also experimented (for the first time) with is his new zoom lens to take some close up photos of the animals.

Talking about animals
I'm posting this video not because it is especially cute or interesting, but because I wanted to show our readers that Katy can engage in real conversations now. So we asked her a bunch of questions about one of her favorite topics (animals) just to get a sample of her talking. The really cute times are when she starts the conversation, and she's full of enthusiasm about something charmingly mundane, but this will have to do for now.

A Forward Gear and a Steering Wheel!
Well, this actually started last weekend, with her desperate attempts to reach the Photoshop 5.0 manual. But we kept it under wraps until we captured it on video. It's true, folks. She's moving forward with purpose, and our lives will never be the same.
