"Wearing down"

I couldn't get a very good picture of it, but this is Katy sucking her blanket kitty's face.
I was reading about babywearing, and they said that it can be a good way to get babies to sleep. Walking around while wearing the baby in the sling until they fall asleep is called "wearing them down". I tried it today and it worked!
Shelby laid down with Katy for a few minutes.

More Saturday Morning

Mommy and Katy dancing in the morning - how relaxing!

Playing with mom in the morning. How (yawn) relaxing...

Maybe a little too much relaxation!

Saturday morning

We are all in our pj's, Daddy cooked breakfast, we are dancing to the Flaming Lips... This is truly what life is all about.

Boo-Sox

Papi's latest work of pumpkin art.

Friday is grocery day!

We were just about to head out to the farmers' market for some fresh produce when it dawned on me how incredibly adorable Katy looked, so I had to stop and take her picture. Then we went out shopping. On the way home Katy got a little upset in the backseat, but her mama's stirring rendition of "Where is Thumbkin?" lulled her to sleep.

It never gets old.

Is Katy hanging upside down?
Nope, she's just passed out after a lovely breastfeeding session.
But it didn't last long. She was back up and playing with Daddy in no time. :)

A visit to Aunt Anna's

Katy watching the Eagles game with Aunt Anna. This was before they choked in the last minute of the game.
Katy and Deanne.
Katy and Katie!
Katy and Grammy.
Kisses from Aunt Anna.

A visit from Jenny and Tom

So, Jenny (whom I've known since I was 4!) and her husband Tom came to visit us this weekend. On Saturday, we went walking in New Hope and Peddler's Village, and then came home to relax and watch the Red Sox game.
Katy was enthralled with Tom.
He held her a lot. And so did Jenny, but...
...somehow the only picture we got of Jenny was with Wolfie. Weird.
At the end of the evening, Katy fell sound asleep on Mommy and Daddy's bed.
The next morning, she was up to her typical thumbsucking antics.

A lump in my throat

This is a picture of Katy's first bag of outgrown clothing. She's too big for most of her newborn clothes. Can you believe it!? Some of these things she only wore a handful of times! We're keeping them in case we have another girl later.

A Weekend at Penn State

This weekend we went to see a Penn State football game. Here are the highlights. :)
Piglet and G-Pop at the piggy statue in State College.
Katy and Daddy at the tailgate on the parking garage roof.
Katy tailgating. (Look closely - she's in there.)
G-Pop and Katy at the game.
Grammy and Katy doing some post-game tailgating.
G-Pop, Daddy, Grammy, Mommy, and Fussbucket.

Another milestone!

Today, G-Pop was babysitting and tried to hand Katy a rattle. In the past, she has never been able to hold it, but this time she grabbed it and shook it for a good long time, looking at it and listening to it.

This is a picture from a few days ago of Jane sharing "her" infant gym with Katy. What a nice big sister. And I mean BIG!

A Visit With Grammy and G-Pop

Here is Katy with Grammy. Note the Halloween costume that grammy made for her - she's going to be Piglet! Cute!

A big discovery!

Katy has made an amazing discovery: those odd things that flail around in front of her and sometimes end up in her mouth are her HANDS! And they are a PART of her! And she can move them or keep them still! And she can talk to them! But they don't talk back. Here she is talking to her right arm.

Extreme close-ups!

Not to go overboard here, but I think each of these pictures is special in its own way. Perhaps it's because I'm Katy's mother, and totally obsessed with my child. These pictures were taken this morning as we laid together on the floor mat that Aunt Anne crocheted. Katy doesn't really play with toys yet, and her favorite thing to do is just be near us, look at us and talk to us.
